Katherine M Mastrota

M.S., O.D., F.A.A.O.

NYU and SUNY Optometry graduate, recognized by Alumnae of the Year, works at Omni Eye Surgery.

Dr. Mastrota, Omni Eye Surgery's Regional Practice Ambassador, graduated from New York University with a Master of Science degree in Biology and completed her Optometry degree at SUNY Optometry. The college later presented her with the Alumnae of the Year award in 2007.

In addition, Dr. Mastrota is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.

Dr. Mastrota is a Contributing Editor to Contact Lens Spectrum and the online newsletter, Optometric Physician. She sits on the Editorial Board of Advanced Ocular Care, Refractive EyeCare and Optometry Times and has authored numerous articles for these as well as other professional publications. She is on the Scientific Board of Directors of Cynacon OCuSOFT and Noble Vision, as well as an advisor to a number of pharmaceutical companies.

Dr. Mastrota also serves a the Clinical Director of The Dry Eye Center of Excellence at Omni Eye Surgery. She has a special interest in ocular surface disease and dry eye, she was named Secretary to the Ocular Surface Society of Optometry (OSSO). She has lectured locally and nationally on ocular surface disease and other topics. Politically serving the optometric profession, Dr. Mastrota serves on the Board of Directors of the Optometric Society of the City of New York.
